Popping The Question.

| On

There was not a question of doubt who I want to be my main girl's on my wedding day. My two beautiful housemates from university and my childhood bestie from home. I’d already asked them to be my bridesmaids before I gave them the boxes, although I wish I hate waited now. Alas, I’m pretty sure I told them I was engaged by ‘fancy being my bridesmaids’? Using words to make setences failed me at that moment in time.

I've always loved Pinterest for ideas, but more so now I have an actual wedding to plan! There are so many beautiful images and ideas that my plans for a simple wedding spiral out of control each time I log in.  One thing that really caught my eye, and I fell in love with, were the cute bridesmaid proposals, which are effectively cute ways to ask them if they want to be your bridesmaid. I knew I had to do these. They were super cute, and a chance to practice my stamping skills!

I wanted each box to be slightly different and reflect each of them. I'm only having three maids, but brides who have like ten might want to skip the thought and effort and just send a text, because it took a few days to get together just doing three! Most of my time was spent getting together the cards, which I made from scratch in photoshop.

In all of the boxes, I put  a nail file and the Essie wedding collection nail polish set. Essie polishes appear in nearly all of the bridesmaid boxes I've seen. If you've already set on one colour scheme in particular, it's also an excellent way to let them know what colour they'll be wearing, and they can wear it on their nails on the day too.

Colour scheme wise, nude, pale and pastel colours are good with me rather than a strict scheme, so the fact there are three colours in the wedding set, a pale purple, a nude, and a pink suited better than picking up just one shade. Mint Candy Apple was very tempting to pick up, but I doubt my maids would have be thrilled at the prospect of wearing green.

I decided that the contents of the boxes would vary between the three, mainly because one doesn't drink, so giving her wine would be pointless, but wine, chocolates and candles feature with the boxes.

I think that is a bonus of hand making them yourself, you can add personal touches, such as omitting and replacing items. Another personal touch in each of the boxes was their fave bath bomb's from Lush.

Obviously, i'm more than excited to have my girls with me on my special day.
I'm always looking for new boards to follow and to have a nose at peoples pins, if you're on pinterest, leave your link below so I can be a nosey moo!
